It was my 25th birthday — three months into a new HR job, fresh out of college, and 1,200 miles from everything familiar. I had just stepped out of a compliance meeting when I looked up and locked eyes with the man who would change everything.
Eight years, two babies, one creaky old house, and a growing homestead later, I still think about that moment. How life can shift in an instant. How much beauty blooms when you follow the yes.
Motherhood cracked me open and rewired my ambition. It slowed me down, and woke me up. These days, I start my mornings barefoot in the plant room, coffee in hand, tiny voices echoing down the hallway. There’s always something baking, something growing, and one new idea simmering on the back burner.
For a long time, I thought I had to choose between being present and being ambitious. But I’ve learned: building a beautiful life is a success. One rooted in joy, trust, and the quiet confidence that comes from honoring your own pace.
